The Chitwan has had a long history of conservation. For many years it was the Royal hunting grounds for the Kings and dignitaries of Nepal and therefore was not hunted by the general public. It did however become a favorite spot for big game safari hunters in the late nineteenth and early to mid-twentieth centuries. This was coupled with a surge in local human populations following the development of anti-malaria medicines in the mid-twentieth century. The long-term effect was a drastic decrease in jungle habitat and animal populations in the Chitwan valley as jungles were converted to farmland and big game were hunted and poached to dangerously low numbers |

Itinerary of Classical Kathmandu Chitwan Pokhara Tour |
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu / Receive and transfer to hotel, H/D sightseeing of Kathmandu city, Parliament, Royal palace, Kastamandap etc. Overnight.
Day 2: Drive to Chitwan / Check in hotel / Jungle activities.
Day 3: Chitwan: - Full day Jungle activities Elephant ride, Jungle walk, canoeing, Bird watch etc.
Day 4: Drive to Pokhara / Check in hotel / Day free / Overnight.
Day 5: Pokhara Sightseeing including Devi water fall, Mahendra cave, KI Singh Bridge/Seti river gorge, Bindhyabasini temple, old bazaar etc. Overnight.
Day 6: Drive back to Kathmandu / Check in hotel / Overnight.
Day 7: Sightseeing of Patan city and Tibetan handicraft center and Pashupatinath.
Day 8: Free till departure / transfer to the airport / Fly out.
