Best Seasons to Visit Nepal

Nepal is a year-round destination, but the best seasons to visit largely depend on your travel goals—whether it’s trekking in the Himalayas, cultural sightseeing, or wildlife adventures. The two most recommended seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November).

Spring is a beautiful time when rhododendrons bloom across the hills, and the weather is warm and stable. Trekking trails are lively, and the views of snowcapped mountains are often clear in the mornings. This season is especially ideal for high-altitude treks like Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Circuit.

Autumn is the most popular season, offering crisp mountain air, clear skies, and excellent visibility. Major festivals like Dashain and Tihar also fall during this time, making it perfect for both cultural immersion and trekking. The stable weather makes it ideal for adventure sports as well.

Winter (December to February) is cold, especially in the mountains, but offers fewer crowds and is perfect for low-altitude treks and city tours. Summer/Monsoon (June to August) sees heavy rains and slippery trails, but regions like Mustang and Dolpo—lying in the rain shadow—remain relatively dry and accessible.

Each season offers a unique experience. These are general recommendations—please contact us to choose the best time based on your travel plans and preferred destinations.
