The next day, the trail begins with a drive to Syabrubesi, a hillside town marking the edge of Langtang National Park. As you travel farther, the noise and rush of urban life give way to the peaceful pace of the Himalayas.
From Syabrubesi, the trek officially begins, following the Langtang River upstream. The trail meanders through dense woodlands of rhododendron, oak, and pine, where rare wildlife like red pandas and mountain birds may be spotted along the way. Villages along the path — such as Lama Hotel and Ghodatabela — offer not just resting points but a chance to engage with the Tamang people, an ethnic community with strong Tibetan roots. For those up for it, a hike to Tserko Ri at dawn rewards you with panoramic views that stretch across the Langtang range — peaks like Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and Yala shimmering in the morning light.
